Tutoring Service Agreement

Thank you for choosing Pine Lake Potential. Our goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized tutoring that helps students build skills, confidence, and independence as learners.

Services

Pine Lake Potential provides one-on-one tutoring in subjects such as math, reading, writing, study skills, and test preparation. Sessions focus on strengthening academic skills, reinforcing classroom learning, and building confidence.

While tutors work closely with students to improve understanding and performance, Pine Lake Potential does not guarantee specific grades, test scores, or academic outcomes.

Family Coverage

This agreement applies to all students in the household receiving tutoring services through Pine Lake Potential. A parent or guardian signing this agreement accepts responsibility for scheduling, attendance, and payment for all tutoring sessions booked for members of the household.

Scheduling and Reserved Time

Tutoring at Pine Lake Potential is scheduled as a standing weekly appointment. Each student is assigned a consistent weekly tutoring time that is reserved specifically for their household.

Standard sessions are 60 minutes, unless otherwise agreed.

Sessions begin and end at the scheduled time. Late arrivals do not extend the session unless agreed upon in advance by the tutor and the family.

Standing Appointment and Monthly Tuition

To support consistent academic progress and stable scheduling, tutoring requires a minimum commitment of four sessions per month, unless otherwise agreed.

Reserved tutoring times are held exclusively for the student and are not offered to other families. Families therefore prepay monthly tuition to secure their reserved tutoring schedule.

Invoices are typically issued near the end of each month for the upcoming month of tutoring.

Payment is due before the first scheduled session of the month in order to hold the reserved tutoring time. Reserved tutoring times are confirmed once monthly tuition has been received.

Because tutoring times are reserved in advance, tuition reflects the reserved weekly appointment, not attendance at individual sessions.

Cancellations and Class Credits

If a student or anyone in the household is sick, families are encouraged to cancel the session or request that the student wear a mask during the session.

If a session must be canceled, please provide at least 24 hours notice whenever possible.

Because tutoring times are reserved in advance, missed sessions are normally charged. Pine Lake Potential offers a limited class credit courtesy for occasional cancellations.

If less than 24 hours notice is provided, the session will be recorded as an unexcused cancellation and a class credit may be issued.

Families may hold up to two class credits at a time. Credits remain valid for two months from the date they are issued and may be used to schedule additional sessions beyond the regular weekly appointment.

Class credits do not reduce monthly tuition. For example, if a family typically schedules four sessions in a month, the full payment for those four sessions remains due. Credits simply allow the student to schedule additional sessions later.

Unused credits expire after two months.

Location and Learning Environment

Most tutoring sessions take place in the student’s home or another agreed location.

Families agree to provide a safe, quiet environment suitable for learning. A parent or guardian should be present in the home during tutoring sessions.

Tutor Assignment

Pine Lake Potential assigns tutors based on subject expertise, scheduling availability, and student needs. Tutor assignments may change when necessary to maintain scheduling continuity or provide the best instructional match.

Weather and Safety

If severe weather or unsafe travel conditions prevent a tutor from traveling safely, sessions may be moved online or rescheduled when possible. The safety of students and tutors will always be prioritized.

Tutor Non-Solicitation

Families agree not to directly employ, contract with, or privately engage Pine Lake Potential tutors outside of Pine Lake Potential services during the course of tutoring and for 12 months following the final tutoring session.

This includes arranging tutoring directly with a Pine Lake Potential tutor without going through Pine Lake Potential.

Ending Tutoring

Either the family or Pine Lake Potential may discontinue tutoring with two weeks notice so that schedules can be adjusted and tutoring transitions can be handled smoothly.
